WHO WE ARE:
MedSTEMPowered is an internationally-based, student-run, 501(c)3, 4000+ member non-profit organization dedicated to building an inclusive community for future M.D.s+ in STEM. We empower and inspire youth to pursue their aspirations in the Medical (and within the STEM-related) fields to encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and foster integrative and shared interests within these fields. Our mission is not only to empower youth, but also to aid future generations of Medical and STEM professionals, by providing them with an outlet to voice and develop their passions.

Since our launch in 2020, we have had the pleasure of welcoming over 3000+ students to participate in our ⚕️Summer and Winter camps.
We are thrilled to announce the much-anticipated 🩺 FIFTH Annual Future M.D.S+ in STEM Summer 2024 Program. Applications are now open and space is limited—we are accepting 400 students to our program this year.
🤗 As always, thanks to our sponsors, the program is completely FREE of cost! Come participate in advanced level medical and STEM workshops, hear from M.Ds + other professionals, compete in our annual research symposium (for a chance of getting published in our research journal), and have a chance to be part of your new International Global Health Initiative.🥳
🌎 This program is catered towards high school and undergraduate level students across the world! We accommodate for BOTH international and national time zones, and by attending 85% of our sessions live, you can earn a certificate of completion with excellence and virtual shadowing hours certified by MedSTEMPowered 501(0)3.

Introducing Our Global Health Initiative!
We are thrilled to announce the launch of MedSTEMPowered’s 🌎 Global Health Initiative this summer! This exciting program invites members of our global community to collaborate and make a difference in their local neighborhoods.
Participants in this initiative will:
- Co-create educational curricula
- Organize impactful social media campaigns
- Lead community workshops
- Engage in various other meaningful activities
Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to earn volunteer hours and compete for quarterly leadership awards.

MEET THE TEAM
Davina Premraj
Founder | she/her/hers
Davina (she/her) is the founder at MedSTEMPowered. She created the Future M.D.s+ in STEM summer program the summer after she graduated high school in 2020. The summer program blossomed from a need demonstrated by students who wanted to attend a pre-medical and pre-STEM summer program — but couldn’t, because of the pandemic. The program’s structure was created by Davina to engage students with content they might not otherwise learn. She is incredibly passionate about teaching, research, education, and making students’ lives better — both in and out of learning environments. Most importantly, she wants students to know that they can do anything they put their mind to. She created the summer program while sitting at her kitchen table, with minimal resources, connections, or even a proper way to host the program. She believes that students are incredible and capable of so much! Be brave enough to put yourself out there.
Ammad Hasan
Executive Director | he/him/his
Ammad (he/him) is a passionate first generation student currently pursuing a degree in public health on a premed track at the University of Texas at Austin while simultaneously pursuing his intellectual passions for philosophy. His passion for healthcare reform was ignited in high school when he undertook a project on the relationship between socioeconomic status, race, and healthcare access which exposed the harsh realities faced by many in accessing quality healthcare. Apart from his studies, Ammad is involved in various roles and experiences that reflect his commitment to creating positive change. He is a Biotech Development Intern at Endless Health, where he is learning and developing new health technologies. He also serves as the Executive Director of MedSTEMPowered, a community of over 4,000 members, and founded the organization's International Program. In the summer of 2024, he will join the Wye River Group as a Health Policy Intern to dive into the field of policy reform in healthcare. Ultimately, Ammad aspires to use his motivation and talents in business and healthcare to drive the change he wishes to see in the world. He is currently looking to expand his experiences by gaining opportunities in community health, public health, health technology, and health policy/reform. He remains committed to his goals and is determined to make a positive impact on society.
Roark Baker
Director of Operations | he/him/his
Roark was born and raised in Toronto and is currently in their third year of undergraduate studies in Life Sciences at McMaster University. Outside of academics, Roark enjoys playing spikeball in the summer, hockey in the winter, cooking, and spending time with friends.
